LACO DETROIT: Type C Pilot Watch

The LACO DETROIT pilot watch is a modern execution on the theme of the fliegeruhr, with a dial inspired by the B-Uhr type A (triangle and two points at 12 o'clock). Its quartz chronometer allows the recording of intermediate times. With a stainless steel case only 10mm thick, it falls into the category of extra-thin, as comfortable under a suit as an airfield.

Made in Germany

LACO watches: tradition made in Germany

Laco (Lacher & Co) was founded in 1925 by Frieda Lacher and Ludwig Hummel in Pforzheim, in the Black Forest. This factory gained its nobility thanks to the aviator's watches: the famous "Fliegeruhren" (pilot pilot in the plural). She was one of only 5 companies allowed to make the original models. The other four were A. Lange & Sohne, Wempe, Walter Storz (Stowa) in Germany and IWC in Switzerland.

The design became cult, as well as the quality of manufacture, established LACO as a mark of reference in the fifties and sixties. After difficulties following a purchase by Timex that wanted to impose industrial-type processes, LACO was re-founded in 2010 with a clear positioning: to become a watch manufacturer in the true sense of the term, based on a small and very experienced team, producing watches of very high quality, assembled by hand as originally.

LACO and modernity

The success was immediate thanks to the legacy of the Fliegeruhren (often referred to as "Flieger") and LACO has since reintroduced new watches celebrating the original models and adding subtle touches of modernity.
